The Changing Church Forum considers the puzzles and problems of the modern church. We think differently about these issues, outside the traditional ways of seeing the church in the world. We have tested our ideas in real church settings. Our aim is to release the power and energy of each congregational member and congregation to thrive in the new context that the 21st century confronts us with. We are committed to this goal:

Prince of Peace Publishing was formed as an outreach ministry of Prince of Peace in 1985. Pastor Mervin Thompson and the leadership at Prince of Peace believed that God was calling them to share their ministry with the greater church. He saw that people and society were changing, but the church was not changing with society. In order for the greater church to grow, they needed to focus on leadership development. The primary focus for this ministry became formation of alternative resources for church leaders across the country.

In 1991, Prince of Peace held its first national Changing Church in a Changing World Conference for church leaders. The same year, Changing Church Forum, a non-profit leadership center, was established as a separate 501(c)(3). Shortly after this first national conference, the Genesis Bookstore was opened to be a resource center and ministry for Prince of Peace as well as for church leaders. The two organizations were merged in June 1993 to create Changing Church Forum, Inc.

Changing Church Forum has and always will play a role in giving back to the local ministry of Prince of Peace Church.
